Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Technician

Advanced Environmental Group, Inc. (AEG) is a leading environmental, health, and safety consulting firm serving clients across various industries. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Technician to join our Southern California team. This role offers a blend of office and field work, with opportunities for growth and hands-on experience in environmental due diligence, compliance, and industrial hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct historical and current use research of properties for environmental impairment.
  • Perform environmental assessments and present findings and recommendations to clients.
  • Conduct field investigations to assess contamination in soil, soil gas, and groundwater.
  • Collect samples including soil, groundwater, asbestos, lead, and mold.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Perform industrial hygiene assessments and third-party oversight.
  • Support EHS compliance projects, including site assessments and subsurface investigations.
  • Conduct on-site field inspections and investigations in construction and industrial settings.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 0–5 years of experience in environmental consulting, construction, or related field.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Valid CA driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends (up to 25% of the time).

Preferred Certifications

  • Required or ability to obtain:
    • DOSH Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST)
    • CDPH Lead Sampling Technician
  • Preferred:
    • DOSH Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC)
    • CDPH Lead Inspector/Assessor or Project Monitor
    • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER
    • EPA AHERA Asbestos Inspector Certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolds, and uneven surfaces.
  • Capable of kneeling, crouching, crawling, and performing repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to work in environments with noise, dust, fumes, and limited lighting.

Salary: From $64,000 per year
